Elephants

I saw a great show about Elephants on the Science channel the other day. I was shocked to learn that 30% of elephants born today are born without tusks! And so are their offspring. The reason this is happening is because of man…because so many elephants are killed by man for their tusks only, leaving only the tuskless elephants to reproduce. Evolutionary pressure for elephants to survive has caused this kind of change, which would normally take thousand of years to develop, to occur in just the past 50-60 years!
